CALL FOR ABSTRACTS – DEADLINE 13th DECEMBER

Seismic is a leading and unique event in Aberdeen, focussing exclusively on the role of seismic and geoscience in the energy lifecycle over two days of technical talks. Seismic 2025 highlights seismic as the key analysis tool to unlock the subsurface, from Oil and Gas exploration through development, decommissioning AND in new energies like wind, geothermal and carbon storage.

The event’s primary focus is bringing the seismic and geophysical community together, renewing old acquaintances and fostering new ones. It’s a great opportunity to showcase new technology, share lessons learned, and communicate case studies, in a supportive, curious and friendly environment.

The committee particularly welcome abstracts on the following themes:

• Full-cycle seismic
• Reservoir characterisation & quantitative interpretation
• Near-field exploration and enhancing production of existing assets
• New and novel technology and innovation for the changing energy mix
• Seismic in decommissioning – the crucial role seismic plays in well decommissioning
• Shallow seismic, including for offshore wind and geohazards
• Carbon storage projects, including site screening, characterisation, development and monitoring
• Machine learning and automation in subsurface workflows
• Use of geophysical data in other energies, such as geothermal and nuclear
• Non-seismic methods including gravity and magnetics
• Traditional use cases and adapting traditional approaches

Do you have case studies or technology examples to share with our audience? If so, we invite you to submit a 200-word abstract for consideration for the 2025 conference programme. If you have a geophysical paper that does not fall easily into these categories, but you believe it will be of interest to our audience, please also consider submitting for our technical committee to review.
