CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

The SPE Aberdeen Section (SPE Aberdeen) and Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG) proudly bring you the first Scottish Energy Futures Conference – focused on deploying the technologies necessary to make the energy transition happen. We recognise that energy transition is a journey over many years – today we need to decarbonise oil and gas production as it still supplies over 80% of global energy needs – but the pace of development of a wide range of technologies means that tomorrows energy systems will look very different. Recognising the urgency of the need to tackle climate change this conference looks at a range of decarbonisation projects that are happening now – and looks to the future to see what technologies might finally deliver the goal of “net zero”

CALL FOR TECHBYTE PITCHES

In an effort to raise the profile of new and emerging technologies we are offering an exciting opportunity for technology companies, startup and academics to deliver a “Techbyte” pitch at our conference.

Each day before lunch there will be five presentations by selected technology providers who will be limited to one slide and a strict 3-minute time slot.

If you’d like the opportunity to present your Techbyte in this way please submit a maximum 200 word abstract for one of the following two categories here

  • New technologies that are available for deployment today (TRL 7-9)
  • Emerging technologies that still need some further development before they are market-ready (TRL 3-6)

The Technical Committee will review the submissions and invite shortlisted “Techbyte” companies to make their presentation at a pitching session to be held in February 2025. The best presentations will be selected for showcasing at the two “Techbyte” sessions.

CALL FOR POSTERS

In the exhibition area, we will have a poster area and encourage submissions from companies and academics where poster format would be preferred. Submit your 200 word abstract here indicating ‘poster’ as the presentation format by 29th November.
