Young Professionals Event: Careers in the Energy Transition
28th May 13.00-16.00 at P&J Live, Aberdeen
DEVEX is a subsurface conference held in Aberdeen annually. The Young Professionals event has been a core part of the conference for many years. The aim of this is to specifically target the needs of young professionals working in the energy industry with a focus on subsurface disciplines. In addition to this, the event is free to attend making this a cost-effective way to participate in the conference.
This year, the theme of the event is careers in the energy transition. We have organised a line-up of speakers from operators, service companies, OEUK and recruitment to discuss this topic. Attendees will get to listen to keynote presentations on careers in the energy transition, and the skills needed to succeed in the energy transition. There will also be presentations from Geologists currently working on CCS projects that have transitioned from conventional hydrocarbon careers. The event will also feature a panel discussion where attendees will get to ask their own questions to the panel.
The event is also a great way to network and socialise with other Young Professionals!
Following the YP event, delegates are invited to attend the main DEVEX Networking Reception and following this, there will also be a social event in the evening after the conference at Brewdog Castlegate. To book a place at the free YP event, follow the link below.

Energy on Draft Event
28th May 18.00 till late at Brewdog Castlegate
Energy on Draft is an informal networking and social event designed to help Young Professionals working in the energy industry to connect. The series originated in London and was expanded to Aberdeen in 2023 through a collaboration between GESGB and SPE. The event is open to everyone, from all different societies (not just SPE & GESGB) and more experienced professionals are more than welcome to join too. In Aberdeen we are lucky enough to have sponsorship for a bar tab so you can even get a free drink or two. The next event coincides with DEVEX so will be a good way to continue the networking after the conference. No need to book, just turn up!
