The webinar is a joint collaboration between the Young Professionals of SPE Aberdeen and SPE Port Harcourt Section, in commemoration of the International Day of Clean Energy.
This event aims to bring together experts, young professionals, and students to discuss the pivotal role of clean energy in driving global efforts towards net-zero emissions.


Synopsis

As the world intensifies its efforts to combat climate change, the transition to clean energy has become a cornerstone to achieving net-zero emissions. This webinar will explore the multifaceted roles that clean energy technologies and innovations play in this global endeavour. From renewable energy integration to advancements in energy storage and carbon capture, the session will highlight how the oil and gas industry can adapt and contribute to a sustainable future.

Speaker:

Engr. Odinakachi Umunna (MNSE, MNIM) - Strategy Consultant, Shell Netherlands

Biography:

Engr. Odinakachi Umunna is a First-Class Engineering graduate with over a decade experience in the energy industry and public sector, spanning operational, transformation, and leadership roles across Africa and Europe. He currently works in Shell’s Corporate Strategy & Portfolio where he collaborates with Senior Executives to develop and implement strategies to help Shell win in the energy transition.

Passionate about just energy transition, Kachi is actively involved with FEL, an independent grassroots community run by Shell employees, with thousands of members globally and the purpose to accelerate the Energy Transition through Shell. He led the Nigerian chapter for 4 years and was elected to the Global Board in 2022.

Beyond his professional roles, Engr Odinakachi is deeply committed to DE&I and youth development. He describes himself as a radical mentor and is dedicated to developing the next generation of leaders. He is also the founder of SABI ECOFUSION, an initiative focused on promoting energy conservation and sustainability through actionable grassroots efforts.

He is married (to a medical doctor), and enjoys writing, swimming and coaching others.

Speaker:

Donna Sutherland, Head of Commercial, Veri Energy.

Donna has a background in commercial, business development and projects. Donna’s experience includes, as part of a small team, founding EnQuest’s wholly owned subsidiary Veri Energy, delivering successful subsea execution projects and, together with the Northern Producer Decommissioning project team, she won the OEUK Excellence in Decommissioning award in 2022. Donna has extensive experience in securing government funding; managing complex commercial partnerships and through the Veri Energy entity is leading the transformation of the Sullom Voe Terminal in Shetland into Europe’s largest energy hub to provide a range of industrial decarbonisation solutions

Cancellation Policy

Full payment of the event rate you have selected must be paid in advance of the event day or you will be asked for payment on registration. If payment is not received then you will not be granted entry to the conference. We recognise that on occasions delegates will book onto events and subsequently find that they are unable to attend. In these situations we ask that delegates notify us of their need to cancel an event booking as soon as possible.

Our cancellation policy is as follows: Please send cancellation details to the event organiser by email or by telephone. Please inform the event organiser if you wish to send a replacement delegate, including their requirements (e.g. dietary, access etc). Please supply their full contact details so that any advance paperwork can be supplied directly to the replacement. If you notify the organisers of your cancellation up to two weeks prior to the event, we will provide a full refund. If you notify the organisers of your cancellation less than two weeks prior to the event the full cost will be payable and only delegate substitution will be allowed. Where you have booked a place and do not attend without notifying the organisers of your cancellation the full fee will be payable.
